Three For April - Card Three

For my final card in this month's "Three For..." series I used kraft cardstock and Prismacolor Pencils.  Although there is a matching die for this stamp set, I simply chose to fussy cut a few millimetres away from the outer border, which was relatively easy to do.

Three For April - Card Two

For the second card in this month's "Three For..." series, I stamped the image on watercolour paper and coloured the blossoms, leaves and background with distress markers and a water brush.  I kept to a nice warm colour palette heavy with pinks and corals.

Three For April - Card One

This month I've decided to work with a beautiful stamp from a set produced by Stampin' Up called Apothecary Art.  This particular stamp features a blank sentiment label with lovely blossoms coming out from either side and a shaped outer border.  I stamped it three times - once on kraft cardstock, once on white X-Press It blending card and once on watercolour paper.

For the first card I stamped the image on white X-Press It blending card and then coloured it with black and grey copic markers for a neutral, monochromatic finish.  I kept to the black and white colour scheme with my embellishments, card blank and borders.

Summer Chair

Just a quick card share from me today.  I love stamping this image on water colour paper and then using distress markers and a water brush to colour it in.  I added a gorgeous die cut frame, some embossed cardstock and a length of white ribbon to finish my project.

Pinspired By...

I've been looking through all the gorgeous ideas on my Pinterest Boards to find a card to recreate.  The hardest part is choosing from amongst all the wonderful projects... there sure is a lot of talent out there!  I finally decided on a simple, stamped design from Jill's Ink.  The original card is stamped in beautiful blues and greens but I decided to go with something a little brighter.

Design Team Cards - Happy Stanley

I know I've said it before, and I know I'll say it again... I LOVE Stanley!  He's one of my favourite characters because he's just so easy to use and so versatile.  You'll be seeing a lot more of this little guy during the year, including special sets for the holidays.

Design Team Cards - Serenity Set

I love drawing these little blossoms and I love creating pretty cards with them too.  They're easy to colour and look great no matter what colour you make them, so it's easy to mix and match them with your favourite patterned papers.

Design Team Cards - Garden Silhouette Set

A lot of people love to create beautiful backgrounds for their cards using inks, paints and colouring mediums, and then print or stamp lovely images over the top.  This set was designed with such projects in mind.  The solid black silhouettes stand out in sharp contrast against the coloured background and allow the lovely patterns and tones to take centre stage.  Don't forget that you can recolour digital stamps to suit your project, they don't have to be black on white... experiment with pink, sepia or green for some wonderful effects.
